Brussels Airlines is cutting 25%of its full time staff and 30% of its aircraft, reducing the total from 54 to 38, although it hasn’t said which airctaf its planning on disposing off. The all-Airbus fleet is mostly A319/20 with A330’s.
The airline said it is spending €1m per day on storage and leasing costs.
The airline had been on track for a strong year, with a major leisure offering to replace the loss of Thomas Cook Belgium, but all of that has now evaporated.
The airline still has no idea when it will actually be able to fly again.
