
American Airlines announced today as a result of the huge decline in profits and demand it will withdraw its remaining 16 767-300ER by the end of May 2020.
The remaining 34 757-200 will also be retired a year earlier, but the last will leave the fleet in September 2021.
As a replacement for the retiring aircraft, once demand returns to a normal level when and whatever that might now be), American has 22 787-8’s and 104 A321XLR/A321neo on order.
The airline also suspended all international routes (including to London Heathrow which was exempt from the ban) from Charlotte, Philadelphia and Raleigh-Durham.
The US has announced that last arrivals will only be processed through 11 airports.
