American Airlines cut 34% of its international routes with restrictions being placed on Europeans travelling to the US coming into effect at midnight Friday 13th.
Delta, United and American were working to stop flights becoming over priced, as demand soared yesterday and overnight. U.K. airlines were looking at £2,800/$3400for an economy ticket and premium and business class seats were mostly sold out.
American along with LATAM, have been forced to cut around 30% of their South American operations too.
Domestic demand has also fallen in the US. United is looking at 70% reductions if necessary. Most are hoping to maintain some routes for as long as possible, but cut daily frequencies.
