Thai selling aircraft as losses widen

Thai Airways lost over $109m in the past year and has suffered from a raft of problems brought on by the coronavirus, the disruption in Hong Kong, the US trade dispute with China, the closure of Pakistani airspace and intense competition from Qatar and Emirates.

Even so the airline increased passenger numbers by over 2%, but only at the cost of cut price tickets, so loosing revenue.

The airline has kept its fleet at 103 but is to sell 15 of its aircraft, largely older 777’s and A330’s wherever possible.
