A6-EOP has finally returned to service after her bizarre accident back on August 22nd. The aircraft was undergoing routine maintenance when the nose support collapsed during a gear retraction test.
The accident ripped off the nose cone and smashed the gear doors up into the fuselage, resulting in extensive damage inside the aircraft.
The aircraft had her test flight yesterday and is now due back in service.
On Friday the last ever A380 fuselage (for Emirates) and wings were driven to the factory at Toulouse watched by hundreds of onlookers at the village of Levignac in France. I have to admit that I’ve witnessed one of these events myself back in 2010, and it’s quite bizarre!
