est Airlines has been forced to cease operations by the Italian authorities, following its failure to satisfy them that maintenance records were up to date and accurate and the aircraft safe to fly.
The airline was given two weeks to make that authorities happy but seems not to have been able to do so.
It’s three aircraft are currently in Lourdes, France, Shannon in Ireland and Amman in Jordan. The airline had brought in some ACMI operators to fly routes for them but this has ceased.
There still remains the possibility the airline will be allowed to fly again, but its finances have been so disrupted by the situation this is looking less likely every day.
