Ernest Airlines, an Italian budget carrier in the LCC mould, has been told by the Italian authorities it may no longer fly after January 13th 2020.
The issue hangs around compliance data and the submission of acceptable proof the airline is operating inside ENAC (Italian aviation authority) and EASA regulations.
The ENAC gave the airline two weeks to comply but has been forced to stop selling tickets after the 13th January – the date of the deadline. If it can provide acceptable paperwork and evidence by the date specified, it can continue to fly.
The airline was founded in 2015 and specialises in flights to Albania, Ukraine, Spain and France from Milan and Rome. the airline operates 3 A320 and a single A319.
