Thomas Cook slots bought up by easyJet and Jet2

The collapse of Thomas Cook inevitably benefitted its competition. easyJet paid £42 million for slots at Gatwick and Bristol and Jet2 has bought slots at Manchester, Birmingham and Stanstead, adding 170,000 seats to its operations in 2020.

Jet2 isn’t willing to comment yet on how much it paid, but Manchester would have been expensive, though not as much as the slots at Gatwick, (which is maxed out on short haul), cost easyJet.
