Virgin Atlantic/Connect Air owned Flybe announced a slew of route cuts and the complete withdrawal of the Embraer fleet.

There’s still no site of the rebranding, but until the full review of the airline routes and personnel requirements has been finalised it’s unlikely to want to taint the new airline brand with the old management and airline identity.

There will also be some major booking site changes – if it’s to be integrated properly, the whole thing has to be worked in to Delta’s booking system. Virgin Atlantic operates a re-skinned version of the Delta site and joint branding, if it’s to benefit the main airline will mean full integration of UK domestic and European routes.

That’s still mildly complicated by Brexit. A UK withdrawal with an agreement will make things easy, without it complicates matters.

As previously announced, the carrier will be focusing on the Bombardier Q400 as its core aircraft type in the future.

The Embraer E175’s will be phased out in late 2019, with the Embraer E195’s returned to lessors by 2020.
