Day 1 of the Paris Air Show 2019, Airbus launch the A321XLR with Air Lease Corporation (ALC) agreeing to order over 100 Airbus aircraft, 27 XLR’s included.

The Letter of Intent includes 50 A220-300s, 27 A321XLR and an additional 23 A321neo’s.

ALC will be the launch customer of the A321XLR version. It’s also the first A220 order for the company.

The A321XLR version is expected to be delivered in 2023. Airbus says it offers an increased range of up to 4,700nm (8,700km). This will enable operators to open new longer range routes such as India to Europe or China to Australia, as well as further extending trans-Atlantic flights.

Air Lease Corporation was founded in 2010 and is Airbus’ third largest lease customer with orders of over 380 aircraft. For example. ALC has already ordered the A321LR  that will be delivered to Aer Lingus, SAS and numerous other airlines in the coming years.
