EI-FZI is now 9H-QAA and was transferred to Malta Air on June 10 2019

As it moves to become a House of Brands, Ryan Air Group has purchased Maltese start-up Malta Air.

Malta offers an advantage over many other EU countries with an exceptionally friendly aviation taxation and regulatory system, designed to attract service and leasing business as well as airline bases. It’s also the home of some first class service & maintenance businesses. This works well for the islands which have little physical space, but an outsized legal and virtual framework designed to accommodate the industry.

Ryan Air operates 7 aircraft in Malta, which despite its tiny size has over 3,000,000 visitors a year, 98% of which arrive by air. This fleet will be turned over to Malta Air and operate under that name into the future.
