Virgin Atlantic’s first A350-1000 took flight on a three hour test route yesterday. G-VPOP will however be the second of the two on the production line to be delivered.
The first delivery will be G-VLUX which is further ahead but hasn’t yet flown.
The aircraft are an evolutionary move upward for Virgin Atlantic, going another step ahead of the 787-9’s, with a new even more refined and luxurious interiors.
The test flight occurred the same day as Airbus celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Virgin Atlantic’s relationship with Airbus is nearly as old as it’s Boeing partnership, stretching back to the A340-300’s of the early 1990’s.
