After years of industrial relations calamities were finally laid to rest, AirFrance looks set potentially reignite the embers of past grievances.
The airline is to cut short haul capacity by 15% because of LCC competition and the highly effective French and European TGV/Talys type high speed train network.
While compulsory redundancies are not expected, 465 staff are being offered voluntary exit.
The company hopes to have carried out its plan by mid 2021.
It’s likely to affect routes and aircraft branded under AirFrance Hop! more than any other as they’re responsible for most of the domestic and near-region routes.
This comes but not long after a similar number of ground crew were offered a voluntary exit package to cut overheads.
