Avianca Brazil cuts more flights & fleet

Avianca Brazil has now cut more than 1,300 flights and reduced its fleet by 66%.

The airline was forced to hand back another 18 aircraft to lease owners over Easter as it cannot pay for them.

The airline has been technically bankrupt since December and filed for protection as it reorganised and tried to find new backers.

Time seems to be running out quickly and it’s uncertain how much longer the airline can hold on.
