Icelandair leases 3 767-300’s

Icelandair yesterday announced the lease of 3 767-300ER’s to make up for the loss of its grounded 737-8’s.

One will arrive in April, the second in early May and another by mid-summer.

The intention is to lease them for at least the northern summer period.

Ongoing issues with the 737-8 suggest it’s unlikely to be back in service before the end of July. Most airlines are working on the basis of the aircraft being unavailable for the northern summer schedules.
