Virgin Atlantic still looking at Flybe purchase

Virgin Atlantic, because of the legal implications was obliged yesterday to update the market on its discussions with U.K. regional operator Flybe.

Flybe put itself up for sale in November, Virgin Atlantic and it’s owners Delta are exceptionally interested- despite trying to play it down, in acquiring them.

The acquisition of Flybe would be a huge leap for Virgin Atlantic, which is pretty much the only large airline in the Northern Hemisphere that only operates long-haul.

Flybe May be a little too big as is, but it has slots and aircraft operating into places that could easily feed Virgin Atlantic long haul at Heathrow.
