Kuwait has ordered 8 of the so far zero sales A330-800neo, in a deal expected to see the first deliveries in 2019.
The airline has also confirmed 5 A350-900’s.
The A338 deal is a relief for Airbus as it nearly always follows with more for airlines that would have remained reluctant to be first.
The aircraft type has been completely outsold by the larger A339, despite initial orders, all of which have been cancelled. The biggest loss was when Hawaiian, having been persuaded out of the cancelled A350-800 into the A330-800, then went to Boeing for the 787-9.
