Rolls Royce claim Asian pollution major cause of engine issues

Rolls Royce identified air pollution in and around Asian cities, as the primary cause of the problems that have grounded dozens of 787’s, leaving aircraft stranded engineless around the world.

The high density of larger particulates in the air around major cities, from Beijing to Mumbai are causing excessive wear in the engines but a solution has now been found.

Meanwhile unsuspecting customers are having to face journeys in aircraft they didn’t bargain on. British Airways is leasing an Air Belgium A343 on flights to Cairo, and has been forced to offer refunds for those downgrading seat class. Just one of many services around the world affected.

Even at BHX a Norwegian 789 sits without engines waiting for repairs.
