Norwegian Airlines has leased in HiFly’s latest addition – the former Singapore Airlines A380 – to fly its London Gatwick to JFK route for possibly several weeks during August, starting today.
The company operates two flights a day and one will continue on the 787-9.
The HiFly A380 may have been repainted, but inside still retains its entirely Singapore Airlines fittings – all the way up to and including the first class bedroom suite.
Quite how these will be allocated to Norwegians somewhat more budget conscious passengers, is hard to comprehend. I suspect they’ll be kept shut out, but I can’t imagine cabin crew not wanting to try them out in rest breaks!
The reason is right back to the ongoing Rolls Royce engine issue which is affecting Norwegian’s 787’s.
