Thomas Cook Group says it won’t sell its airlines

Thomas Cook Group is trying to squelch rumours that it was about to sell off its airline holdings, principally Thomas Cook in the U.K. and Scandinavia, and Condor in Germany.

The company is heavily indebted owing over £1 billion and has been bailed out twice in the recent past.

Rumour has it that shareholder Foson – a Chinese conglomerate who own 12.5% of the group – is keen to acquire the airlines.

Thomas Cook denied any change – and you know the old adage – if they’re saying it’s not happening it’ll be done in a week… then again maybe it won’t.
