British Airways to lease three more 777-300ER’s

Never an airline not to sniff out a cheap deal, BA has been given the go-ahead by parent IAG to lease three more 777-300ER’s – Boeing has been desperate to sell a few more to keep production rolling up to 777-x roll out.

BA has long said it wished it had taken more than the original 12, and has finally done so.

Airbus will not be amused, as the deal comes almost certainly at the expense of a possible A380 order BA were planning on making and walked away from over price.

The aircraft are due to enter service in 2020 and are likely to be the last 777-300ER’s built.
