Jet Airways orders another 75 737-Max

With Farnborough just a couple of weeks away, most manufacturers like to store up their orders for a showdown – news goes reasonably quiet.

However Boeing have jumped in already with the news of a $14.4 billion deal to sell India’s Jet Airways, who are a full service carrier, 75 Max-8’s.

This is a big deal for Boeing as the 737 hasn’t done so well in India against rivals Airbus, and Jet are by far the biggest buyer.

Jet Airways has placed three orders in the last year for the 737 and this brings the total to 225.

There is a vast potential market in India and regionally, and not everyone wants to travel in the confines of an LCC environment. Jet believe they can deliver a superior offering and cater for that market.
