Vietnamese start-up Bamboo Airways has paid deposits for 20 787-9’s due to be delivered in 2020-21.
The airline chose the Dreamliner over the Airbus A330neo. It has however chosen the A321neo for its regional and domestic operations.
The airline will commence operations in 2019 and part of Vietnam’s ongoing push into regional aviation.
The intention is to serve areas as wide as China, Korea and Japan, with potential US, Australasia and European destinations once the 787-9’s are delivered.
