Singapore Airlines owns a big chunk of Vistara, along with Tata Group, and it’s a fast growing Indian LCC with a quality approach.
The airline is said to have chosen the 787 over the A330neo.
Six are expected to be ordered with another four as options. It will allow for Vistara to start long haul operations to the U.K. and Europe, with potential entry into the US market later.
The 787 type isn’t known, but some evidence suggests they may opt for the -10. Seat numbers matter more than range to make the aircraft financially viable.
A formal announcement is expected within weeks.
