Russo-Chinese CR929 ‘bigger than A330-900’

The new Russo-Chinese airliner is now larger than originally planned according to new details released yesterday.

An engine requirement has been released for a 78,000lb thrust unit – 7,000 above the previous maximum requirement.

Dimensions released suggest an aircraft around 10% larger than an A339.

The prospects for the aircraft are looking up, with the US withdrawal from the Nuclear Agreement and sanctions on Iran due, Airbus and Boeing have lost out and America has handed the Iranians to Russia and China on a plate.

Iran is already looking at the new COMAC and the SSJ as viable alternates. The CR929 will certainly be on their list now.
