WOW is to commence flights from Reykjavik to Delhi, India, in 2019 on delivery of its first pair of A330neo’s.
The airline is aiming to start expanding to Eastern Europe and Asia, with destinations as far afield as Bangkok and Hong Kong on the horizon.
WOW is already not far from eclipsing it’s IcelandAir competition and believes its approach to creating novel linking routes, at low prices, will more than compensate for one and two stop flights.
The concept of cheap flights from Delhi to the US is one that will upset plans being made by Delta, and will further pressure Air India on prices for its one stop flight via London to New York. It will also offer further pressure on Emirates at Dubai – a major transit hub for India-US flights.
