American Airlines has ordered 30 76-seat aircraft split equally between Bombardier and Embraer. The airline has also opted for the same number as options.
American’s CRJ’s will be receiving the new “Atmosphere” cabin that includes space for carry-on roller bags in overhead bins. The aircraft will be delivered between April 2019 and January 2020.
American subsidiary PSA Airlines, will operate the CRJ900s; raising PSA’s CRJ900 fleet to 70.
The E-175’s will be delivered between March 2019 and November 2019 to another American subsidiary, Envoy Air.
American has ordered 89 E-175’s, with Envoy operating 44, and another 10 more due from a previous order arriving from October 2018.
Both types will feature inflight Wi-Fi and twelve domestic first-class seats. They will also have the new premium economy seating among the sixty-four economy-class seats.
