Air Canada to retire 767’s & add more A330’s

Air Canada’s board has decided not to order more 787’s to replace its 8 767’s it retires them during 2019.

Instead the airline will refurbish its existing owned 8 A330 fleet and add at least four from leasing companies.

There seem to be no plans to transfer the 767’s to Rouge which operates 24 at present.

The cost of refurbishing the A330’s was less than a single 787-8 so there was no real justification to buy new. The A330’s average 17.7 years and could easily be extended to 25.
