Emirates forced to store 6 A380, 14 777’s

Emirates has been forced to store 6 A380 and 14 777’s at Dubai World Central for at least a month.

The airline is suffering from cabin crew shortage it describes as temporary, of around 150 staff. It’s also facing a pilot shortage as Chinese airlines tempt away qualified crews with higher pay and low living costs in Shanghai and Beijing.

The airline insists the groundings will be for no more than a month. It has 170 pilots in training at its own academy and will fill the cabin crew vacancies quickly.
