Philippine Airlines drops Kuwait, starts non-stop JFK

Philippine Airlines is dropping it’s route to Kuwait after a series of events regarding Philippine domestic workers being severely mistreated in the Gulf sheikhdom. Kuwait depends on foreign workers – its own people see at as beneath them to do domestic work like cleaning.

A recent case so horrified the Philippines that President Duarte ordered all citizens to leave Kuwait – and the airline has shut down the direct route.

The airline has however, announced that its to fly direct to New York JFK using 773ER’s 4 times a week. The flight is a trans-polar route taking about 13-15 hours depending on weather conditions.
