Ethiopian buys 45% of Zambian as a strategic partner

Ethiopian is the biggest airline in Africa by a vast margin. Regional air travel is still in its infancy if it even exists at all in some places. Zambian Airways is a potential growth airline, with the rarity of a stable regional network and good domestic flights.

Ethiopian has bought 45% and will effectively advise the airline and manage it day to day as it prepares to expand regionally then internationally. 55% remains with the Zambian Government.

Zambia is renowned for its agriculture, copper, and wildlife tourism.

    1. Hi Alex, I’ve been providing insight news on forums but stopped because it wasn’t the right place, so in 2014 I set up 1400Reviews. What I really wanted to do was still provide insight articles – not just report every news item, so started aviationnews.online in June last year. Blogs take time but it’s had two big scoops already and been linked to other bigger sites. My aim is insight, understanding why, not just blanket reporting. I just enjoy doing it. I think it’s vital people know why something happens, not simply that it did.
