Niki suitors line up to save airline

Suitors for bankrupt AirBerlin subsidiary NIKI are lining up, and the negotiating teams are contentious negotiating during next week to ensure slots and the airlines AOC are not terminated. A deal is expected before New Year or just after.

Suitors include: International Airlines Group, owners of BA, Aer Lingus, Iberia and Vueling, the Thomas Cook Group and Niki Lauda – the airlines founder and former double Formula-1 Champion. Two other non-airline businesses are also bidding for the airline.
