Icelandair to drop Birmingham UK

Icelandair is dropping the twice-weekly Keflavik – Birmingham (BHX) route on January 18, 2018.

Icelandair is adjusting its network. On November 3, 2017, Icelandair launched year-round service from Berlin-Tegel Airport.

The BHX route has under performed consistently during its nearly two years of operating. The withdrawal will mean that there is now not even an indirect flight available to the US via Iceland from the airport.

Primera Air will not begin operations to the US from BHX until June 2018. There is hope that WOW will step in with a smaller aircraft type to make Iceland viable again from the airport.
