Swiss regional Darwin AOC revoked, stops flying

Darwin, until recently one of Etihad’s equity partners, has had its AOC cancelled and has stopped passenger flights under its own name. The company has gone into Swiss bankruptcy proceedings.

Now owned by Luxembourg investors i4K who own Adria in Italy, the airline seems to have suffered sharp drop in passengers on its main Lugano-Geneva route.

It will operate wet lease contracts for other airlines in the mean time and says it wants that to be the focus of its business post bankruptcy reorganisation.

Darwin operates 6 Saab-2000 and 4 ATR-82-500.
