PIA’s last flight from New York leaves two bodies behind

Following Pakistan International’s decision to shutter its loss-making US operations, the last flight left New York JFK yesterday.  The aircraft manifest included the coffins of two ex-patriots who wanted to be buried in Pakistan. The only problem being the airline forgot about them and departed while the coffins were still waiting to be loaded at JFK.

PIA blames the ground handling agent, but Etihad stepped in and agreed to ship the coffins to Lahore – as long as PIA accepted the costs, which it did.
