easyJet and Thomas Cook in hard talks to buy the last of AirBerlin’s assets

The two airlines are in last minute talks to buy up AirBerlins’s remaining aircraft by tomorrow, or they will be placed in storage and additional costs will be generated. On top of that part of the plan is to secure pilots and crew, and a flying set of aircfat that can be placed into more or less immediate operation is the goal.

easyJet are aiming for 20 A320’s to set up a large base at Berlin Tegel in an effort to blunt Eurowings and Germania filling the vacuum left by AirBerlin’s demise tomorrow, 28 October.
