Sun Country Airlines converts to full LCC model

It’s been happening since August, but passengers are now being charged on the LCC ticket model across the board. You build your own ticket based on luggage and extras, carry on charges and so on.

Sun Country, based in Minneapolis-St Paul has taken its time to decide how to operate in a deeply competitive market in which it somehow manages to survive.

It’s aircraft are a familiar if not common sight around the US and parts of Mexico and The Caribbean.

With just 22 737-700 and -800 aircraft, it operates a diverse charter and scheduled mix. It surprises me that despite the vicious US market place airlines like Minnesota’s Sun Country still find a way to survive and provide valued services its customers rarely complain about.
