RyanAir’s tactics finally blow up in its own face, abandons Alitalia bid, faces prosecution

Having to deny your pilots hate working for you and that some 140+ have left for another airline was the least of RyanAir’s worries yesterday.

Having to try and deny that many others are about to, or already have reached the legal maximum of 900 flying hours this year is another.

Facing the threat of prosecution by the U.K. CAA for “systematically deceiving the public on an industrial scale” about pricing, terms and conditions, and fares is just another.

Hardly surprising then that the airline said it wasn’t an appropriate time to continue the Alitalia bid for which it was a prime contender.

I’m not sure wether that’s good news for Alitalia, or bad.
