Russsia & China to develop new engine for C929 long haul jet

Russia and China have signed memorandums of understanding in the long process of developing a totally new engine for the new joint venture long haul project, referrred to by China as the COMAC C929.

Russia’s United Engines, a Rostec subsidiary and China’s AECC will cooperate on determining the customer need, specification, and overall look and style of the finished engine. It’s likely to enter service in around 8-10 years.

You can almost hear the hacking teams working on their keyboards to steal design ideas from Western  companies.
