Qantas drops Dubai from March 25th 2018

In a not entirely unsurprising change, but at the same time as extending its codeshare with Emirates, Qantas announced it’s dropping Dubai as its stop enroute to London, and moving flights to Singapore at the start of the 2018 summer season on March 25th.

The use of DXB as a stop over was never something Qantas was happy about – Emirates flights and change overs for Europeans heading to Sydney have drained customers, and given people a choice at DXB that distracted from Qantas objectives.

The change will restore a more conventional routing for Qantas A380 services to London which will soon be joined by the Sydney-Perth-London 789 service.
